Role/Responsibilities:

  • Manage one or multiple data center facilities, critical equipment and operations teams
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the critical infrastructure equipment supporting the Data Centers
  • Responsibility to ensure that the facility’s power, cooling, and various other subsystems are operating at peak performance, and are maintained according to Data Center Standards and Manufacturer’s schedules and recommendations
  • Development of method of procedures (MOP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP), to support a 100% uptime mission critical environment.
  • Manage the operations, maintenance and repair of equipment such as CRAHs, AHUs, Chillers, Pumps, Cooling Towers, UPS’s, Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, Switchgear
  • Supervise and schedule external vendors, electrical, mechanical, construction and low voltage contractors, to ensure that maintenance is completed and projects are done safely and with 0 downtime, and that all Data Center operational procedures are being followed
  • Build and develop a diverse skilled team of facilities technicians, to support multiple mission critical environments. Review staff’s performance, identify training needs, develop training plans, and plan training sessions to improve quality of service and staff development
  • Ensure Data Center facility complies with public utility, environmental, Federal, State, City and County, and other agencies as required.  Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and fire/life/safety requirements
  • Develop the annual budget and ensure budget adherence, including oversight of Opex and Capex procurement and monthly spend forecasting
  • Respond as an escalation point to the after hours on-call rotation. This will include managing the investigation, mitigation, and recovery of the issue(s) to completion

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

 

Experience Alternative: 

  • Six (6) to ten (10) years’ experience in a critical operations environment. Data center experience preferred, electrical maintenance experience required
  • Commercial Electrician preferably in a Data Center environment with electrical maintenance experience
  • Electronics Technician preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment with VFD and DDC controls experience
  • Commercial HVAC Team Lead with chiller, water pump, and cooling tower experience.
  • Facility Engineer with critical infrastructure experience
  • Appropriate military training and service, such as the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program
