Troy started his career in the energy and telecom industry as a contractor for the US Department of Energy (DOE). At the DOE Troy regularly spoke and trained industry peers and partners about the benefits of using renewable energy technology. He reported and participated in energy efficiency projects in schools, businesses and factories that partnered with the DOE and DOE Programs.
In 2006 Troy took on a new challenge with Verizon Communications. At Verizon, Troy became a subject matter expert in Communications and Fiber optics. He assisted in the design, engineering and rollout of Verizon’s FiOS Fiber to the premises for many of the multi dwelling units in northern Virginia, and within the Verizon FiOS data centers at Campus Commons.
In 2012 Troy was recruited to RagingWire Data Center to be a key part of their advanced team to build, sell and deliver the first facilities on the east coast. After getting the center up and running, Troy managed the in-house customer fit-out team and was responsible for all aspects of fit-out from presales design, to delivery for all customer builds.
In 2014 Troy was recruited to Iron Mountain data centers, to take a company with two enterprise data centers and turn it into the 24 data center global platform that it is today. During his tenure he has built out the NOC, service delivery teams, incident management processes, change management processes, CAB board, and Iron Mountain Data Center’s first ticketing system. In 2017, he took on a new challenge to establish the future flagship campus for Iron Mountain Data Centers in Manassas, VA. In the past 6 years, he is proud to have led the VA location into the largest campus and the flagship site for Iron Mountain data centers federal customers.
Troy received his B.S. degree in communications from Radford University. In his free time he enjoys working on his house, brewing beer, grilling on his big Green Egg, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
