Born and raised in Washington, D.C. and the youngest of 5 children, Vee began her career in the Information Technology field during the 11th grade. Since then, she has evolved and passionately committed herself to being a visionary advocate for women, an exceptional servant leader, and a major influencer. 

Vee began as a Staff Assistant and trainer for the U.S. House of Representatives. As time went on, she started working for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 organizations, federal government agencies, federal contractors and the U.S. Congress. 

Vee coined the term ‘’knowledge transfer strategist’’ as a result of her being able to effectively communicate, advise, and lead across several industries. 

In 2009, Vee and her cousin Naomi Williams, co-­‐founded an online community called TheGirlfriendGroup (TGG). TGG was a global business/social community whose mission statement was ‘’Women helping women in all aspects of life.’’ TGG began as a tribute to Vee’s late sister Valerie Patterson.  They grew TGG to over 3,500 member before it was closed in 2015.  

In 2010, Vee parlayed her 20 years of experience into her very first entrepreneurial venture and founded V.R. Maddox Consulting. V.R. Maddox Consulting was a consultancy that offered recruiting & staffing, professional development, and IT Training. Shortly thereafter, V.R. Maddox Consulting became a Certified Virginia SWAM Business (Small, Women & Minority Owned).   The business was affected by COVID and is currently being re-branded and re-launched as The VList LLC.   

Vee’s flagship program is the #GetHired Employment Community on Facebook.  She’s run the community for 13 years and will continue to offer it as a free service to job seekers.   

As a volunteer, Vee has served as a commissioner for the Town of Leesburg Commission on Technology & Communications the Economic Development Commission and the Diversity Commission.  In 2017, Vee was elected as the first Black Woman in the history to sit on the Leesburg Town Council.  

Vee is an advisor to several non-­‐profits and small businesses locally and around the country. She is currently leading her fifth think-tank called #BlackWallStreet: Loudoun. In addition, she’s completing her first book/memoir entitled, ‘’The Politics of Nice: How a Catholic School Girl Navigated the Halls of Power.’’ 

Vee’s lives by the personal philosophy collaborate and remain open-­‐minded.  She believes in and mentors several young, professional women. She enjoys working with smart, talented, innovative, and forward-thinking people.  Vee loves movies, music, tech and is a proud nerd!   

Vee currently lives in Northern VA her sons Connor & Jamison.  #dodgingraindrops
